I'm never comfortable addressing voids, not so much because of the old Blakian line about how 'the abyss gazes also', but probably more because I fear it doesn't. After all, if the letter will never be sent, why write it in the first place?

Then again, as with doing anything (semi)public there's always the crap shoot that somebody may, actually, be paying attention -- in which case I'll apologize for describing you, dear reader, as a void. I'm sure you have many qualities that voids cannot hope to aspire to, being empty and featureless and all, and I'll thank you now for reading at all.

This is, of course, my self-introduction to the deviantart community. Hi. I'm new. It's cool here, thanks for having me.

I'm, mostly, a writer. Last night a girl I didn't know asked me to describe what sort of things I wrote, and I said, "Well, I write about a lot of sleazy things I did when I used to live in Chicago, mostly." She didn't think I was being serious, but, honestly, that is what a great deal of my current oeuvre consists of. Other influences are my degree in philosophy from an excruciatingly (and I don't use that term one-dimensionally here) good school, being intelligent and fairly good-looking (if somewhat out of shape -- I'm an egomaniac, not a narcissist), and I'm single.

Oh, got this site confused with myspace for a moment. Although, that is one of the reasons why I'm here at all -- this place was described to me as 'a myspace for artists,' which is an idea I like. I want to meet, greet, and experience your work and let you do the same to mine.

There's not much now, but that doesn't mean you can't take a look at what there is...it just doesn't take so long.
